Innovative Solutions for Digital Inclusion

The digital divide remains a significant challenge in the U.S. The Internet is hailed as an enabler of economic liberty for all, but many groups remain offline or have limited connectivity access. Similarly, cultural, education and employment opportunities are tied in inexorably to Internet access. As society becomes more and more reliant on 'always-on' Internet access, how can we make good on the promise of the Internet to make the world a more equitable place by ensuring equal access to the Internet? According to the Pew Reseach Center, home broadband adoption climbed steadily through the first decade of the 21st Century but has remained stuck at around 65% ever since.

Digital opportunity is not distributed equally in the United States, as such, communities across the country have developed innovative solutions to bring those online who may have otherwise been left behind. This panel will explore creative and effective solutions for broadband access and digital literacy, and will offer suggestions and next steps for those looking to implement their own digital inclusion efforts.
