Comments:
Surveillance capitalism refers to a market logic centered on the collection and commodification of private information for corporate profits. It is at the root of many of today's internet governance problems, as I outlined in a 2018 op-ed for Vice (https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/xwjden/targeted-advertising-is-ruining-the-internet-and-breaking-the-world). Shoshana Zuboff, who coined the term, would be an excellent speaker.
